How to Connect CCTV Camera to Mobile Phone Without Internet

We are going to discuss how to connect CCTV camera to mobile phone without Internet.

Using this setup, CCTV will send live video feeds on the mobile screen in real-time. We are using GPRS technology for this project.

So, what you are doing is you are making a special connection between your mobile phone and your security camera that does not require an active internet connection on either of them.

So there won’t be any need to turn off your router or do anything crazy like that to get it working! If everything goes according to plan, you should have shared-video capabilities up and running fairly quickly, so let’s continue.

How to Connect CCTV Camera to Mobile Phone without Internet

Here is a simple step-by-step procedure to connect a CCTV camera to a mobile phone without the Internet. So, let’s jump right into it.

It is a very simple procedure that will take only five minutes to complete the task.

Firstly, you need to buy a GSM Sim Box device, from any eCommerce website.

Once you buy the sim box, you have to set up your dongle and then insert the dongle into the DVR card installed on your DVR system at home or office location; after that, plug & play the DVR system with the help of a power supply.

After this, insert the dongle into the GSM sim box and connect GSM Sim Box to CCTV Camera. Now you have to put the number from which you want to receive alerts on your mobile phone, then save it, and that’s all.

In short, follow the following steps for connecting a CCTV camera to a mobile phone without the Internet:

Install a WiFi Hotspot Antenna

In CCTV cameras, we have to install a WiFi hotspot antenna, and in our mobile phones, we have internet access through 3G or 4G.

Both devices will be connected without a PC data card, and there is no need for any password or security code for that.

You have to share a WiFi network connection from your webcam and give your mobile number as a password.

That’s it, and now you can see yourself from a CCTV camera on your smartphone anywhere at the home, office, etc.

Another useful thing you should know about this solution is that while viewing through CCTV cameras on other devices like TV or Laptop, this application will also work but only when the device is switched.

It means that if you are viewing through a CCTV camera on your laptop and switching off your PC, this application will not work. Isn’t it interesting? So, now I guess that you would like to know about the installation steps of this solution.

Installation Steps

The first step for this Connection between CCTV and smartphone is installing a WiFi hotspot antenna in your security cameras.

This antenna will create the access point to which we can connect to our mobile device.

You can install either a 2.4 or 5 GHz WiFi Antenna according to data transfer speed, but it has been observed that usage of higher frequencies results in less stable connections.

After installing a WiFi hotspot antenna, you need to configure the network settings by connecting to the IP address through your phone, laptop, or PC browser.

Here you have to enter your WiFi hotspot name and password, which you want to use for viewing purposes on a mobile device. After that, click on the save button and reboot the camera connected to the WiFi antenna.

Connecting to the IP address

Now we are ready to connect our smartphone with a CCTV camera without an internet connection through a 3G/4G SIM card and router. We can configure this in two ways:

First method:

In the first method, we will connect our mobile device directly with a CCTV security camera using a WiFi Hotspot from a 3G/4G sim card provider.

Here you need to insert a sim in your SD card slot, which allows you to create a WiFi hotspot for other devices.

Once you insert your sim, it will automatically connect with the WiFi network of your device, and now you can share this Connection with all other devices by using this app.

So the next step is to install a “hotspot tethering” application from the play store on your android phone.

You can install it easily by searching through the play store or if previously downloaded. It will also be available at the bottom of the screen, where all previously downloaded applications are listed.

After installing, open this application from the home screen and click on the start option to work properly.

Now we are ready to view CCTV cameras on our smartphones without an internet connection through 3G/4G sim cards.

We have to connect our mobile device to a WiFi Hotspot created by a security camera, which we did in the previous step.

Second method:

In another method, Connection through 3, you can also connect your smart p/hone 4G sim card wirelessly and not manually like the 1st method.

For that purpose, you need a router you already use to connect PCs or laptops at home or the office.

You don’t want to know about its work because here, we will only configure it and not make any changes inside it.

So first of all, plug out your WiFi router and insert the sim in the SD slot and connect back to the router. After inserting a sim, enter default with CCTV Security Camera without an internet connection password, which is “admin”.

This password is provided with your security camera, or you can also find it inside the FAQ or manual of the device.

After entering the correct password, you will see that the router becomes active automatically. Now we can connect our wireless devices like laptops, smartphones, etc., to this router without using any wire.

Now it’s time for connecting your android device through a WiFi hotspot from a 3G/4G sim data service provider.

The process is the same as the first method. Just open the Hotspot tethering application from the play store and configure it by following on-screen instructions.

Note: Ensure that your firewall settings do not block IP addresses because the WiFi hotspot antenna uses this port-forwarding IP camera. We cannot connect CCTV cameras to mobile phones without the Internet through 3G/4G sim cards.
