How to get QR code of CCTV camera

You might have seen cameras installed on the streets, malls, and in many other public places. Some people are worried about what they are being filmed, and others are concerned about their privacy.

Suppose you find a nearby CCTV IP address. The purpose of these cameras and finding IP addresses is to keep an eye out for suspicious activity or acts of crime within public places.

But this surveillance is not limited only to public places anymore, and now it’s also becoming popular at homes

Suppose you live in a community that has started using home security systems or the best outdoor security camera system.

You might have already seen small cameras next to doors or windows that are sending signals to a receiver housed inside the house somewhere near the entrance door.

What does this signal do? How can you use it to take advantage?

These cameras are usually equipped with QR (Quick Response) Codes, and a mobile app scans these codes that the security company provides to its customers.

Once the code is scanned, the app will either give a live view of what the camera is seeing or show you a recorded video clip from that particular camera.

Its main feature is to keep an eye on your kids, pets, or home when you’re not there. You can use it as a deterrent for criminals because they will know that they are being watched.

Some people might find this level of surveillance too invasive and might want to remove the cameras from their homes.

But before taking any drastic action, they should first read the terms and conditions of the contract they signed.

The contract usually states that “the owner is responsible for any damage incurred to this property due to removal or tampering of the CCTV system”.

With all this in mind, you should know that these cameras use QR Codes for identification purposes. You can make use of this fact to your advantage by printing out a fake QR Code and sticking it near the camera lenses. How does it help?

Now, when someone tries to scan your fake code, his mobile app will give him the same message every time – “Invalid QR Code! The scanner does not have access to the server.”

And since most people won’t bother calling their security company and ask what’s going on. We’ll say that no one knows what happened to your camera. Problem solved!
